11-night City Lights, Safari Sights & Dubai with Expo: Cape Town, Pilanesberg National Park & Dubai
This 12-day vacation takes you to Cape Town and on safari in Pilanesberg before connecting to Dubai to experience Dubai Expo 2020. It features a mix of deluxe and first-class accommodations and shared tours.
Your journey begins in Cape Town, a city blessed with one of the world’s most spectacular natural settings. Known as the Mother City, Cape Town sits in the shadow of Table Mountain on the beautiful Cape Peninsula. You’ll have three days at leisure to explore the city and surrounds at your own pace. Venture along the Cape Peninsula to gaze out over Cape Point and spot the colony of penguins at Boulders Beach. Head on a day trip through the Cape Winelands and stroll through the quaint streets of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Summit Table Mountain for spectacular views of the cape or book a trip to Robben Island to tour the infamous prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years.
Fly to Johannesburg and connect to Ivory Tree Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park, a malaria-free haven nestled in the basin on an ancient amphitheatre divided by riverside woodlands and ancient elephant trails. Spend two full days on safari in Pilanesberg. Head on morning and afternoon game drives in an open land rover and search for the Big Five as well as cheetahs and wild dogs. Cap off each day with sundowners and spa treatments at the lodge or a dip in the swimming pool.
Connect back to Johannesburg and continue on to Dubai, the futuristic city that defines the 21st century more than any other. After settling into your hotel, you’ll head to the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, where you’ll head up to Level 124 for an experience “At the Top.” Enjoy panoramic views of the city as well as multimedia exhibits charting the construction of this architectural marvel. Afterwards, head to the Dubai Expo 2020 grounds to start your exploration of this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition. Visit pavilions from over 190 countries and discover scientific innovations and cultural marvels from the world’s leading scientists and creators. You’ll have another day to explore the expo at your own pace. Cap off your time in Dubai with a dune safari in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. Ride a camel across the dunes, try out sandboarding, and enjoy a breakfast picnic with views of the shifting sand dunes.
At the end of your stay, connect back to the airport for onward travels.

Cape Town is southern Africa's most beautiful, most romantic and most-visited city. Few urban centers anywhere can match its setting along the Cape Peninsula spine, which slides like the mighty tail of the continent into the Atlantic Ocean. By far the most striking - and famous - of its sights is Table Mountain, frequently mantled by clouds, and rearing up from the middle of the city to provide a constantly changing vista to the suburbs below. Table Mountain is the city's solid core which divides the city into distinct zones with public gardens, wilderness, forests, hiking routes, vineyards and desirable residential areas trailing down it's lower slopes.
Dubai is a member of the United Arab Emirates, the cluster of sheikdoms along the Arabian Sea. Located at the crossroads between East and West, the emirate's long-standing trading tradition has for centuries brought visitors from throughout the Middle East and neighbouring regions. Now modernized, Dubai continues to attract many with its international facilities and its exotic, yet cosmopolitan lifestyle. Dubai has the best prices in the Arab Gulf states for gold, electronics, perfumes and is a tax-free city. It also has good beaches and excellent resort hotels. The town was the residence of the British political agent for the former Trucial States from 1954 until 1971. Known as the Venice of the Gulf, Dubai is the chief port and commercial center of the United Arab Emirates.
Pilanesberg Game Reserve
Next door to the famous leisure and entertainment resort of Sun City, is the Pilanesberg National Park. It has a real wilderness feel to it and most of the big animals visitors wish to see. It lies amongst the only significant hills in the area which rise skywards out of the flat highveld plain. This massif is a 1,200 million-year-old volcanic relic of four concentric mountain rings. The Pilanesberg is the highest peak towering 1,950 feet above Mankwe Lake, which sits in the heart of the ancient volcano. The volcano's circular bowl was recognised as being the perfect situation for a national park with its tall sides creating natural boundaries. There are currently around 10,000 head of and it is a very popular game park for locals and overseas visitors alike - many of whom make the short trip from the nearby resort of Sun City.
